Breast reduction

Women with very large breasts often experience a variety of issues resulting from their size including severe back and neck pain, skin rashes and loss of self-esteem.

Breast reduction surgery — also known as reduction mammoplasty is a surgical procedure that removes excess tissue from large and heavy breasts and restores them to a more youthful, comfortable and proportional shape.  In fact, the procedure is life-changing.

The process involves having the nipple and areola repositioned, leaving patients with the desired breast size and shape in proportion with their body.

Scarring is unavoidable, however, the fine scar tissue will begin to fade over time and can be further minimalised with a series of laser treatments. At your initial consultation, Dr Chang will discuss the best incisional techniques suited to your natural breast shape and condition of your skin.

DOWNTIME: Overnight surgery. RECOVERY TIME: Initially three to five days before you may return to most daily activities. You will see Dr Chang following your surgery where any required drainage and dressing will be attended to along with the removal of the sutures.

Additionally, you will be asked to wear maternity or sports bra for several weeks and adhesive tape will be used to support the suture lines along with a compression garment. RESULTS: At three months, the breast’s final shape will begin to take effect.

Our laser clinic also includes a complimentary post-recovery CARE program which includes LED Light Therapy [which reduces swelling and accelerates the healing of surgical scarring] and Fractional Laser Resurfacing [which minimises scarring and triggers collagen production].
